FAQ

When and where can I watch the video recordings of each session?
The videos will added to WordPress.tv over the next month or so, but we don’t have an exact timeline. We will notify our entire mailing list and our social media channels when videos have been added.

Where can I view the slides for each session?
We collect the speaker’s slides and add them to each session on this website. When viewing the schedule page, click the session and if slides have been provided there will be a link showing for it. We will also post to our social media channels once most of those have been added.

Do I need to bring a confirmation of my ticket to registration?
Registration information is not required. We’ll locate your entrance badge based on your name.

Where do I park?
You may park in lots P20-P23, located on Founders Drive off of W.T. Weaver Blvd. Check the location page for a parking map.

Will you sell tickets at the door?
No, we don’t sell tickets onsite for PreCamp or WordCamp.

How do I get on the WiFi network?
Please use the instructions that were emailed to you. If you’re having trouble, a volunteer can give you a voucher code to use as an alternate method.

What does the ticket price include?
The regular WordCamp 2-day ticket includes entrance to all sessions on Saturday and Sunday, lunch, parking, entrance to the After Party, and a very cool T-shirt!

What is PreCamp: Beginner’s Day?
PreCamp is a special session (and a a different ticket option) offered on Friday, July 24. It’s meant for those new to WordPress. By the end of the day you’ll have set up a working site on WordPress and learned key terminology. You’ll be ready for the Saturday and Sunday WordCamp sessions.

Can I switch tracks?
WordCamp was designed with 4 main tracks to help guide attendees, but you can hop between any track you like. The All Users track has a little bit for everyone, so check it out! Also, all sessions will be recorded and posted to WordPress.tv, so you’ll have a chance to catch up on sessions you missed later on.

What should I bring?
Bring your fully-charged laptop or tablet, or a notepad to take notes.
PreCamp attendees must bring a laptop as you will be setting up a WordPress site.
You’ll need admin access to your laptop so you can sign on to UNCA’s free Wi-Fi network.
And, don’t forget your business cards to share with all the people you’ll be meeting!

What should I wear?
WordCamps are casual conferences so wear whatever you are comfortable in. You might want to bring a light jacket if you get cold inside buildings.

What is the Happiness Bar?
WordCamps are known for our commitment to community and the Happiness Bar is where you can go to get free WordPress advice and support. Bring your laptop and hook up with the Happiness Bar volunteers to brainstorm any issue you might be having, or simply go chat with knowledgeable WordPressers and get to know some new pals!

Is there going to be food for special dietary needs?
The UNCA dining hall will offer a variety of options for those with dietary restrictions.

I’m traveling from out of town. Where should I stay?
Most attendees last year found accommodations on their own, and so we opted not to reserve hotel blocks this year. Please view the Location & Lodging page for a couple suggestions. By and large, rates are lower if you stay a few miles outside of downtown.
